“I don’t want this to happen again,” an 11-year-old girl, survivor of the May 24 massacre in a Texas elementary school, implored Wednesday, June 8, before the American Congress. Miah Cerrillo, who covered herself in the blood of a comrade whose body lay next to her to escape the attention of the shooter, plunged the country back into the horror of the Uvalde shooting, during a a hearing on the regulation of firearms in the United States.

The assailant has “shot my teacher, he said ‘good night’ to her and he shot her in the head. Then he shot some of my classmates and the blackboard”testified the little girl in remarks broadcast by video.“When I got close to the backpacks he shot my friend who was right next to me and I thought he was going to come back into the room”she said.
“So I took some blood and smeared it all over myself… I was silent, then I grabbed my teacher’s phone and called [le numéro d’urgence] 911″, continued the little girl. Miah Cerrillo assured that she no longer felt safe at school.
