In the book Nagui, a TV child, the author René Chiche recounts the day when Nagui found himself in a very complicated situation.
Indeed, a few years ago, the host of Don’t forget the lyrics on France 2 found himself face to face with a burglar who had entered his home. Husband Melanie Page did not call the police and walk away. “Unimpressed, Nagui walks towards him to do battle. Several blows are exchanged between the two men before the burglar decides to flee”, can we read in the book.
Didier Deschamps’ BFF was injured in his clash in the left brow bone and ended with “three days of total interruption of work”. He must have contacted “the firefighters and the police after making sure that the man had left the house”. “The elements of the investigation concluded that the presenter of France 2 had been the victim of an attempted burglary”.
Regarding this episode, the media wanted to obtain the testimony but the father of the family preferred to remain silent. “There are much more serious things going on in the world right now. I wish now just a little peace of mind for me and my family. It is quite a trivial matter …”, he had just said.
Tackled by former colleagues
Journalist René Chiche’s book includes numerous interviews with personalities or acquaintances of Nagui. Some are not shown to be tender with him!
“Of course it is not very easy on a daily basis”, said a former colleague. “No doubt because of this impression of illegitimacy or inequality that he always felt with his Egyptian origins”, before qualifying it as “mistrustful” limit “a little anguished”. He remembers an anecdote: “I no longer remember which newspaper had written: Nagui is a photocopier, not an inventor”. “It made him very angry, and there was a bad atmosphere in the offices for a few days.”
A former production manager spoke with words going in this direction. “He could take a long time to respond to our requests, as if he took pleasure in making us stumble.”. According to her, the BFF of Didier Deschamps is the type to want to decide all the same to “the location of the water bottle. It was almost obsessive.”
