(Montreal) A young man was stabbed in the middle of the street on Saturday evening in Montreal.

The assault occurred on rue Raymond, around 9:30 p.m., near rue Galarneau, in the borough of LaSalle. Emergency services responded after a 911 call.
“At the scene, the police located the victim, a 26-year-old man. He was injured in the upper body by a stab wound, ”confirmed agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The man was taken to hospital, but there are no fears for his life.
The motive for the crime is unknown at this time and the police have no suspects in sight.
“According to the information we have obtained, the victim was on Raymond Street and, for a reason currently unknown, the victim was stabbed by a suspect. He would have fled after the attack, ”said officer Comtois.
The crime scene was protected to allow SPVM investigators to analyze it.
The investigation is continuing.
