Another huge drug seizure in Loire-Atlantique! After the 364 kilos of cocaine seized at the port of Montoir-de-Bretagne on Monday, nearly 800 kilos of cannabis resin and nearly 140 kilos of cocaine were discovered in the Nantes region during the dismantling drug trafficking.
Drugs stored in garages
This is the culmination of an investigation that began last fall. From the outset, justice suspects that it is a very, very big traffic. A national investigation unit is created. Cocaine and cannabis resin are purchased in large quantities then stored near Nantes in garages and vehicles stored in boxes.
And to dispose of the drug money, a whole whitening system is set up: with investments in businesses, the purchase and resale of luxury cars and watches, furniture and travel.
200 gendarmes mobilized
This Tuesday, May 31, a major operation is launched: 200 gendarmes intervene simultaneously in Loire-Atlantique but also in Ile-de-France and in Hauts-de-France. 15 people are arrested. During searches around Nantes, investigators seized: 791 kilos of cannabis resin138 kilos of cocaine, 250,000 euros in cash and in bank accounts, but also luxury goods: cars, watches, furniture and clothes.

Up to 30 years in prison
Of the 15 people arrested, 9 men and 4 women aged 29 to 61, 11 are indicted for drug trafficking, importation of narcotics in an organized gang, criminal association and money laundering. 5 were remanded in custody and 6 under judicial supervision. They risk 10 to 30 years in prison, indicates the parquet floor of Rennes, in charge of the case in a press release.
