A former Prime Minister in support of the majority candidates in Mayenne. Edouard Philippemayor of Le Havre and former Prime Minister under Emmanuel Macron, was in Mayenne this Friday evening to participate in the public meeting of Yannick Favennecoutgoing UDI deputy in the third constituency and to support the two other candidates supported by the presidential majority, Geraldine Banneroutgoing LREM MP in the second constituency and Beatrice Mottier, invested by LREM in the first constituency. Édouard Philippe took the opportunity to clarify the situation in the Bannier-Langouët duel in the second.
“No Ambiguity”
“I am here to support the candidates invested by the majority”says Édouard Philippe at the microphone of France Bleu Mayenne, “I am very clear on this, I support the candidates who are invested by the presidential majority, there is absolutely no ambiguity, the candidates invested by the presidential majority in the three constituencies are the candidates I support and the only ones I support, I am not for dissent and division and I think I am very serious when I tell you that we have need a majority, solid and stable”says Edouard Philippe.
And even if it means losing a potential member of Horizonsthe party he leads, knowing that Christophe Langouët is close to the party in Mayenne, the former Prime Minister sweeps, “you must not take me on land that is not mine”he adds. “Géraldine will stay while Béatrice will enter” at the Assembly even assures Édouard Philippe in front of those present at the public meeting.
Operation seduction
By speaking at the podium, Édouard Philippe plays seduction with the Mayenne people. “I almost lived in Mayenne, in Laval”confides the former Prime Minister in front of the public but it did not finally happen, “You might have lost against me in the legislative elections”laughs Yannick Favennec. “You have, with Yannick, an experienced and rooted MP”describes Édouard Philippe, insisting on proximity and presence of the outgoing UDI MP on the ground in his constituency. “He has the perfect profile to count in the majority”adds the former Prime Minister, “he knows the National Assembly perfectly and you know it matters to know it because these are complex processes so it is extremely valuable”.
“An important step in the campaign”
“Tonight is an important step in the campaign”claims Yannick Favennec microphone in hand, because less than 10 days before the first round of the legislative electionsthere are only 17 public meetings left on the program of the outgoing MP who had planned 99 meeting points throughout the constituency. “I have the niaque, the energy, the desire and until June 10 in the evening, I will campaign commune by commune and I will go to see each and every one of the inhabitants of my constituency”, adds the outgoing MP. He also repeated in front of Édouard Philippe that he would be “proud to join the Horizons group at the National Assembly” if elected.
