Quebec reports six new deaths linked to COVID-19

Quebec reports six new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Thursday, as well as a decrease in hospitalizations.

There are currently 1,105 hospitalizations, a decrease of 34 compared to Wednesday. Twenty-four people are in intensive care, a decrease of seven.

A total of 3,943 healthcare workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now stands at 15,433.

The Ministry of Health reports 699 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,067,605 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 214,613 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 176,019 positives. For Wednesday, 245 tests were reported, including 205 positive.

The Ministry of Health reports 11,687 tests for Wednesday and a positivity rate of 7%.

Regarding vaccination, 6136 doses have been administered in Quebec in the last 24 hours.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 14% received a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 42% sought a fourth dose.
