A new adventure begins for singer, actor and host Marc Hervieux, who becomes the new director general of the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec. He will begin his new duties on August 22.

A tenor artist who graduated from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal in 1997, Marc Hervieux has distinguished himself on some of the greatest stages in Canada and around the world. He recorded more than ten albums, including three gold discs and received three Félix.

He was also a host on Radio-Canada at ICI Première, ICI Musique and ICI Musique Classique.

“Marc Hervieux’s profile will allow him to successfully occupy the management functions of the Conservatoire. He is an exceptional person recognized for his artistic vision, his mobilizing leadership and his ability to communicate and inspire. Marc Hervieux will succeed Jean-François Latour, Director of Studies, who has served as interim Director General. His mandate is for a period of five years.

The Conservatory of Music and Drama of Quebec is made up of nine schools specializing in music and drama located in seven cities: Gatineau, Montreal, Quebec, Rimouski, Saguenay, Trois-Rivières and Val-d’Or.
