François Legault begs and receives yet another refusal from Justin Trudeau. François Legault is asking for a “strong” electoral mandate to beg for more. But he already holds this strong mandate with his plethora of deputies and, what is more, before a minority federal government. What more does he hope for? A strong mandate associated with even more deputies of the CAQ in the National Assembly would only be worth to François Legault the same negative response to the litany of his vain requests. François Legault is certainly aware that a premier of Quebec will always be faced with two options: to govern a province within a federated state or to decide that the interests of his constituents would be better served inside a normally constituted country.
