Attempted murder in a Laval restaurant

An attempted murder by firearm occurred early Wednesday evening at the restaurant La perle vietnamienne in Laval, leaving the victim in critical condition.

According to our information, the man targeted would be Bernard Cherfan, a 42-year-old close to organized crime.

The latter had survived a first attempted murder by firearm in 2015. He had also pleaded guilty in a death threat case in 2002.

Authorities have long assumed he had ties to hitman Frédérick Silva.

He is the second person in the inner circle of Frédérick Silva to be targeted in three weeks, after Sébastien Giroux was shot dead in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal, two days before receiving his sentence for complicity after the fact in one of Silva’s murders.
