The bottled water brand Cristaline, which sells more than 233 million packs in France, has announced a price increase for its pack of six bottles, the best-selling product in France. The brand had not raised its prices for almost 20 years.

The water bottle crystalline is the best-selling product in the supermarket, and it is also the cheapest bottle. But the brand will increase its prices by 10%. Crystalline, is also caught up by inflation. “I didn’t know it, but I know everything is increasing. So we are simply resigned”testifies a Frenchwoman.

The price of this low-cost water had not changed for almost 20 years. This increase is partly due to that of plastic, essential to manufacture the bottles. Indeed, the price of this material is soaring, with an increase of 39% last fall. Another reason: with the rise in fuel prices, transporting the goods is more expensive for the company. It will therefore pass on its costs to the distributors. According to Oliver Dauversa specialist in mass distribution, consumers could soon see the price rise on their receipts.
