a Toulousain launches a game of skill called Bibock

We help you prepare for summer this morning on France Blue Occitania since, in the New Eco, we present to you Bibock. A game of skill launched by the Toulousain Geoffrey Esnault. This former industrial designer converted since the Covid crisis into the creation of games presents this 100% French throwing and skill game which will go on sale this summer. The mölkky better watch out. Presentation.

Hello Geoffrey Esnault, what is your Bibock game about?

It’s a game that combines luck and skill, which is both compact, easily deployable and for all ages. Suddenly, the goal of the game is to bring the bocks of his color closer to the master to score points, or even to climb on the master to maximize the number of his points. Be careful not to turn over your bocks because the subtlety lies in this game that on one side of the puck, there is a red color and on the other side of the palace, there is a blue bock. So suddenly, if the puck turns over, you will give points to the opposing team. And furthermore, at the end of each end, anything red is picked up by the red team and anything blue is picked up by the blue team. So there are two ways to win at Bibock. Either we score sixteen or more points during different ends, or we recover all the pucks in play.

It is best played outdoors. It’s a bit like the Breton puck to get an idea?

It’s exactly that. It is played on any type of loose soil outdoors, indeed, to enjoy the outdoors.

And how did you come up with this idea and this name too?

Bibock, in fact, is that there are two colors as a bicolor and the name of the puck is called a bock. And then, how did this idea come to me? It was on my birthday. For my 30th birthday, I wanted to bring together my family and my friends and I wanted to create a fun, friendly activity where everyone could mingle with each other and have a good time outdoors.

Precisely, it is a 100% French manufacture. Is that also important to you?

Yes, the wood comes from PEFC managed forests. (The PEFC label thus guarantees the consumer that the product he buys comes from responsible sources and that through his act of purchase, he participates in the sustainable management of forests.) It is a label that secures all French forests. The packaging is also made in the Gers, that’s all that is printing is done in the Toulouse region.

A word also from you Geoffrey Esnault, you are from Toulouse, an industrial designer. Is it a reconversion following the Covid crisis?

Yes, I worked for a long time in the automotive industry and also in the aeronautical industry. This is why I live in Toulouse. And indeed, after me I was a dad, so we question ourselves a little bit. Then there was the Covid. Then afterwards there was an economic social plan in my company. So it was yet another step in my conversion to making wooden games.

So when will it be released? In Occitania, everywhere in France? Do we have an idea of the price?

In terms of price, it will be between 35 and 40 € retail price. Today, it can already be found on the Ulule platform for pre-order. And it will be available on my website from the middle of this summer.
