After tough negotiations, the Twenty-Seven have finally reached an agreement to reduce their imports of Russian oil, while the war in Ukraine continues to rage.
The negotiations were complicated, but the Twenty-Seven finally came to an agreement. The Europeans will drastically reduce their imports of Russian oil by the end of the year. If there will be an agreement, there will also be exceptions for certain countries. “All exports by ship will be phased out by the end of the year and only landlocked countries will be able to continue importing Russian oil through pipelines”explains journalist Julien Gasparutto, live from Brussels (Belgium).
“It’s about the Czech Republic, Slovakia and especially Hungary”specifies the reporter who explains that“they got a little more time than the others and above all, money to be able to readapt their infrastructures [afin]eventually, [de] do without Russian oil”. By the end of the year, this nevertheless means that the Europeans will do without 90% of their imports of Russian oil. The objective is to stop the financing of the Russian war machine.
