Valérie Pécresse had given herself until May 31. Originally, the deadline had been set for May 15, but it was pushed back two weeks to raise 5.1 million euros, the amount of the loan that she had personally taken out for her campaign at the presidential election. Unreimbursed campaign costs because candidate LR did not reach 5% of the vote in the first round, with 4.78% of the vote.
To repay this loan, Valérie Pécresse was able to count on generous donors. 3.3 million euros were collected after his appeal the day after the first round of the presidential election. Among the thousands of donors, Valérie Pécresse and her husband each paid 4,600 euros (that is to say the maximum amount authorized for this type of donation). The Les Républicains party has put its hands in its pocket to make a donation of 1.2 million euros (this sum had been lent and is transformed into a donation).
The remaining 600,000 euros correspond to the amount reimbursed by the State, for a candidate having obtained less than 5% of the votes.
