The lack of rain this winter and at the start of the year, a large part of the Drôme is experiencing a major drought. The heightened alert has been issued in the areas of Galaure, Drôme des Collines, Plaine de Valence, Drôme, Roubion and Jabron. The use of water at these locations is further limited.
The prefecture indicates in particular that individuals, like public authorities, cannot no longer water lawns and green spaces between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.. It is also no longer possible – including for companies – to wash cars outside the car wash. Despite the heat, individuals can no longer fill or upgrade their pool.
Regarding the farmers, a water tower will be set up – that is to say an hourly calendar – in order to smooth the water withdrawals. Any violation is liable toa fine of 1,500 euros.
Elsewhere, the sectors of Lez, Eygue and Ouvèze remain on simple alert for the moment, as well as the tributaries of the Valloire. The Royan Vercors and Rhône sectors remain vigilant.
