Nordic integration | The duty

Staying in Oslo, I communicated in English with the Norwegians, even if we did not master this language. Restaurant menus are not translated and, if food packaging is, it is in Danish, Swedish and Icelandic. As I observed the models of futuristic homes and vehicles in an industrial design shop, the employee, obviously of Eastern origin, was searching for his words to explain the projects to me. On the other hand, everywhere I went, locals of foreign origin spoke impeccable Norwegian, whatever the nature of their employment.

Instead of allowing Quebec bashing, Why shouldn’t the federal government, which has just approved the Norwegian company Equinor’s oil drilling expertise off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, recognize their successes in terms of linguistic integration and sovereign funds? The workhorse of a distinct society.
