(Drummondville) On the last day of his party’s pre-election convention, Prime Minister François Legault unveiled new candidates on Sunday, including the CEO of the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, Sonia Bélanger, in Prévost and the municipal councilor of Sainte-Julie Isabelle Poulet in Laporte.

Appointed to her position by the Liberals in 2015, Sonia Bélanger was at the heart of the management of the health crisis in the metropolis, along with the director of public health of Montreal, DD Mylene Drouin. In Prévost (Laurentides), she will try to succeed Marguerite Blais, who is leaving politics at the end of her mandate.
Isabelle Poulet has been a municipal councilor for the city of Sainte-Julie since 2005. She was part of the team of Suzanne Roy, the former mayor who is also running for the CAQ, in Verchères. According to the Qc125 electoral projection site, François Legault’s party is likely to win the riding of Laporte, in Montérégie, from the Liberals.
In Rosemont, a riding held by Québec solidaire (QS), the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) presents Sandra O’Connor, who was communications director for the Minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx.
In Taschereau, a Quebec riding also represented by QS, a Quebec government manager, Pascale St-Hilaire, will wear the colors of François Legault’s party. Current MP Catherine Dorion has already announced that she is not running again.
