Mother’s Day is celebrated on Sunday, May 29, in 2022. France has 18 million mothers. A family meeting, but also a commercial one. Overview in figures.
This Sunday, May 29, is Mother’s Day. They are 18 million in France. The opportunity for the youngest to make a nice drawing, or to offer a necklace of noodles. The biggest, they will break the bank: 60 euros on average, or a turnover of 1.9 billion euros. At the top of gifts, we find flowers, which represent 28% of purchases. Next come perfume (11%), followed by a meal in a restaurant or a piece of jewelery (8%).
Among the worst gifts in the eyes of mothers, they cite the iron and the vacuum cleaner. Their choice is more on a voucher for a spa. Finally, be careful, not all moms are celebrated on the same day. In Belgium, in Spain, or even in the United States, it is on May 8 that they are celebrated. In Luxembourg, it’s June 12.
