In an interview with Le Parisien, the boss of the Ferrero group apologized. But the group’s sales are strongly impacted after salmonella poisoning.
A few weeks after salmonella poisoning, Kinder products remain on the shelves and have lost no less than 40% of turnover. “We don’t buy any more at all”testifies a father, while a woman has found another solution. “Orange, banana, all Kinder or chocolate stuff, even on other brands, we try to avoid”. Like Buitoni or Lactalis, Kinder is not the only brand involved in food scandals.
In question, at the time of the scandal, the Kinder brand had taken a long time to react and withdraw its products from sale. Despite the first cases detected in December, we had to wait until March to no longer see the brand’s items on the shelves. Through the interview given by the boss of the brand, some do not believe in the sincerity of Kinder, but see a real communication operation to rehabilitate the brand and start selling its products again.
