The Christmas celebrations will be even more magical in this winter of 2021. Chantal Goya, timeless fairy, queen of hymns for children, rubbed shoulders with the repertoire of the man in red by taking up great classics in a new album which will be released on November 19 . But it has many surprises in store for young and old alike, since three unpublished tracks will be featured in the tracklist of Chantal Goya sings Christmas. And a bird tells us that it will be humming in the cottages at the end of the year!
Chantal Goya could, herself, resume her songs, by the fireside, with her two children. Married to Jean-Jacques Debout for 55 years, the artist is the mother of a boy and a girl: Jean-Paul, born in 1966, and Clarisse, born in 1968, who also gravitate in the artistic field. One is a painter, the other a photographer, but neither has wanted to touch the celebrity. “At first it amused them, when they were little, when we needed children on TV, they came but they were not at all attracted to show business, she explains to Purepeople. They thought it was ungrateful, weird. It was nice when it was the Carpentiers, with others it was less nice. And then it must be said that as I started in 1977, they were already ten years old. And then after that it goes quickly. At 12, 13, we are no longer in the stories of Chantal Goya and Marie-Rose. “
They can sing everything, even current songs
It would seem, however, that Chantal Goya can hand over the torch when she wishes to certain members of the clan that she forged with Jean-Jacques Debout. “We have the grandchildren too, who are 20, 22 … and I was surprised because one day we bought a device to do karaoke. And in fact they all sing very, very well, she assures. They sing better than me! Everyone does Dalida, Gilbert Bécaud, Charles Aznavour, Johnny Hallyday … they can sing everything, even current songs. And the one who does not understand anything, who is in the middle of all that when she has made 40 million records, it’s me!“A karaoke evening with Chantal Goya, what better Christmas present?
