In the UK, inflation is over 9%. The government has announced a recovery plan and to pay it will impose a tax on the energy giants. Matthieu Boisseau is in duplex from London, Thursday, May 26.

Boris Johnson refused for a long time, but he finally cracked, after months of negotiations, the Prime Minister decided to impose a new tax on the oil giants. Thus, the government will take 25% of the profits of these large groups. The goal for the British government is to finance a new aid plan against inflation whose budget is 15 billion pounds sterling.

Unheard of for 40 years, inflation in the United Kingdom Thursday, May 26 is 9%. The poorest households will receive 1,400 euros to be able to pay their bills as well as food. A Britons in five say they can no longer pay their bills. If the tax put in place should be useful, it will only be used to finance a third of these new measures.
