Report on COVID-19 in Quebec as of May 26, 2022

Quebec reports Thursday 12 new deaths attributed to COVID-19, as well as a drop in hospitalizations.

There are now 1,315 hospitalizations, a decrease of 29 compared to Wednesday. There are 43 people in intensive care, a decrease of two.

A total of 3,998 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.

The death toll now reaches 15,390.

The Ministry of Health reports 705 new cases, for a total of 1,063,741 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

A total of 211,987 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 173,755 positives. For Wednesday, 212 tests were reported, including 171 positive.

The Ministry of Health says it carried out 10,839 analyzes on Wednesday and a positivity rate of 6.7%.

With regard to vaccination, 9689 doses administered are added, ie 9290 in the last 24 hours and 399 before May 25.

Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 13% received a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 41% received a fourth dose.
