Lassay-les-Châteaux chosen as the setting for the shooting of a film

There has been a big bazaar in the courtyard of the castle of Lassay-les-Châteaux in recent days. On site, Belgian and Canadian teams have installed all their equipment to finish filming of “The Battle of farador“, a fantastic and comic work, where geeks find themselves projected into their own games. “We needed a medieval setting,” says Marc Biron, the co-producer, under the spell of Mayenne.

A great success

Because indeed, the Bois-Thibault and the Château de Lassay both had their small effect on the Canadian team, which does not regret for a single second having crossed the Atlantic to join the Mayenne. “That’s wonderful ! From Canada, we were looking for a medieval castle with stature. And when we came across Lassay with its 8 towers and its inner courtyard, we were wow“, rejoices Marc Biron, who also adored Bois-Thibault where interior scenes were shot.

A craze that inevitably touches the owner Cécilia de Montalembert, very discreet in a small corner, but who does not miss a beat. “It looks like a big mess, but in fact everyone is in their place and knows what they are doing. I hope the film will be successful in Canada so that many Canadians can come and visit.“She can therefore count on Marc Biron for that, who also intends to obtain the right to broadcast in France, in addition to North America. The release date is scheduled for 2023.
