Inflation, everyone can feel it concretely while shopping. More details with Jean-Paul Chapel, who presents his basket of 20 Hours, Wednesday, May 25.
With its basket of 20 Hours, France Televisions follows the evolution of the invoice. In May, the increase in the receipt is 5.6% over one year. “Unheard of since we established this basket”, specifies the journalist Jean-Paul Chapel, Wednesday, May 25. All products in the basket have seen their price increase. “The biggest increase, once again, is pasta: + 19.9% for the branded product. For the first prize, the increase is even more spectacular: + 43%”explains the journalist.
Frozen ground beef climbed 12.8%, mainly due to livestock feed. Next come low-cost eggs, with an increase of 10.2%. Among basic foodstuffs, which increased by almost 10% year-on-year, low-cost flour and coffee, as well as oil, cost more. Essential products are also affected. This is the case for toilet paper, which has seen its price increase by more than 7% for the first price.
