More than 200 film personalities walked the red carpet for this memorable evening of the 75th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival. They all came to attend the screening of Louis Garrel’s new film, “L’Innocent”.
75 years is something to celebrate! This Tuesday, the Cannes Film Festival presents its anniversary party, usually organized every five years. For the occasion, hundreds of actors and directors, French and foreign, made the trip. Moving and happy festivities after these two years of pandemic. During the 60th anniversary, a new cinema was inaugurated to welcome more and more artists. This year, a name is assigned to it: the Agnès Varda room, in tribute to the director, who died in 2019.
To dress up this celebration, the new and fourth film by Louis Garrel is screened: The Innocent. It tells the story of a young man in conflict with his mother who decided to marry a prisoner. The feature film is out of competition but will have to charm an audience of demanding filmmakers.
Louis Garrel is presenting three films this year at Cannes, including two in which he is one of the leading roles: Flighta musical tale directed by Italian Pietro Marcello, selected for the Directors’ Fortnight and Almond trees, the story mixing autobiography and fiction of Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi.
