Michel Drucker will officiate on France 3 next season. The host announced it to franceinfo on Monday May 23, confirming information from the Parisian. His show Can’t wait for Sunday will no longer be broadcast on France 2: “I really liked it because I am a provincial, there is a real consistency between me and the 3”. The schedule also changes, since the star host and his red sofa will take the air at 1:30 p.m. instead of 2:20 p.m., from the last weekend of August.
franceinfo: How do you see the upcoming move?
Michael Drucker: I am delighted with this move. In fact, I don’t really move because I stay in the big house of France Télévisions. When Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, number two at France Télévisions, presented this project to me two or three months ago, I really liked it because I’m from the provinces. I’m not a Parisian, I’m a reader of the PQR, I grew up in Basse-Normandie so there is a real consistency with me and the 3, as with France Bleu, which is the sponsor of my show that I is playing right now. I am happy with the schedule, the 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. is a schedule that I know well. When I took over from Jacques Martin, it was already within half an hour of my schedule. It’s a very transgenerational, family schedule.
“There are three generations who come to have lunch with grandpa and grandma, so I’m really happy.”

Are you going to be better exposed?
It is true that the programming will be more regular since on Sundays on France 2, we were often interrupted, which was normal with the agreements of France Télévisions with the sports operations: men’s women’s rugby, European rugby cup, the tournament Six Nations, Roland-Garros… it’s often a bit dotted. So there I will have a regular program with the addition of a small detail that is not one: it will be non-stop, there will be no commercial breaks.
We should expect changes, a new version of Can’t wait for Sunday ?
I could have called it, but it was too long, “Vivement dimanche d’yesterday, Vivement dimanche d’hui, Vivement dimanche de matin”. I’m going to spotlight more and more comedians, as I’ve always done, I’m going to spotlight “in-house” comedians who I don’t think we talk about enough, and who punctuate all successful series of France 3. And then I will pay tribute every month to a great deceased because I am a little bit the memory of this profession now, since I will be 80 years old soon.
“I’m going to pay tribute to the great actors that everyone knows, that our parents and grandparents loved, that we see regularly on television, in reruns.”

I will pay tribute to Bourvil with his children, to Gabin with his children. I will also pay tribute to people like Christophe, Moustaki, Claude Brasseur, Annie Cordy… I am very happy to ensure that all these greats who have marked our lives do not disappear from the memory of the French.
And the red sofa?
I will keep it until the end of my life!
