The collision occurred at the corner of Joliette and Saint-Laurent Streets West, in the heart of downtown Longueuil. At this busy intersection, four lanes in four directions connect businesses, gas stations and malls.

Around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, a young motorist in his twenties collided there with two pedestrians, an adult woman and a minor. A dog accompanied them. The three people involved were injured and taken to hospital. However, there is no fear for their lives. The dog also suffered injuries, explains François Boucher, public relations inspector for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).

The car also hit a lamppost and another stationary vehicle. A scene was erected at the scene of the accident and the investigation is still ongoing on Sunday evening. SPAL investigators, as well as scene reconstruction specialists, were dispatched to the scene to understand the circumstances of the event.
