After a fine eight-game unbeaten streak, CF Montreal lost for the second time in a row, dropping the flag 2-1 to Real Salt Lake on Sunday afternoon at Stade Saputo, where it suffered its first loss this season.

The Montrealers took the lead in the 43rd second on a goal by Djordje Mihailovic and thought they were leading 2-0 in the 15th minute when Romell Quioto beat Zac McMath, but he was ultimately offside.
And it was from this moment that things started to go off the rails for the locals. Salt Lake took control of the game and it was only a matter of time before things got out of hand.
It was finally in the second half that the dam gave way, the Bleu-Blanc-Noir clinging until then on the defensive level. The team struggled to deal with the high pressure in Salt Lake and looked tired in its third game in a week.
twelve minutes
Although Salt Lake dominated the game, the Utah team only needed twelve minutes to settle the case of the Montrealers in the second half and silence the 14,205 spectators present.
Jusen Glad initially had far too much space to head off a corner kick, which allowed him to tie the game in the 54th minute.
Then a long pass between two defenders allowed Sergio Cordova to come alone in front of Sebastian Breza to score in the 66th.
Spectacular in the first half with two saves that raised the crowd, Breza looked less good with his attacking angle on this shot.
Quick Goal
The Bleu-Blanc-Noir started the game like a lion when Djordje Mihailovic scored in the 43rd second after a fine effort from Joaquin Torres whose game was completed by a pass from Ahmed Hamdi to Mihailovic, whose seventh it was goal of the season.
It was the team’s third fastest goal since joining Major League Soccer (MLS). And by a funny detour of chance, it is the second time this season that Mihailovic has found himself with the club’s third fastest goal in MLS.
Indeed, the midfielder also scored in the 58th second against Vancouver last month, which was then the 3rd fastest goal.
For the curious, the record is held by Andrés Romero who scored in the 22nd second in 2013. Anthony Jackson-Hamel is second at 27 seconds in 2019.
