(Cannes) A woman stripped naked on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to reveal a message against rape written on her body at the premiere of Three Thousand Years of Longing (Three thousand years waiting for you) by George Miller, Friday.

The unidentified woman ripped off her clothes during a walk on the film’s red carpet to reveal the message “Stop Raping Us”, written on her chest alongside the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag. Red also adorned her legs and groin area.
She chanted “Don’t rape us! as security quickly surrounded and removed her from the red carpet.
Festival representatives did not immediately comment.
Russia’s war on Ukraine was often discussed at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which features several films by Ukrainian filmmakers. The festival banned Russians with ties to the Kremlin from attending. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a surprise speech Tuesday to open the festival.
