He was part of this large batch of players who are coming to the end of their contract at La Berrichonne in a few weeks. But there seems to be an exception: Adama Mbengue will continue the adventure with Berri next season.
The club announced this Thursday, via a press release: “Author of 2 goals and 2 assists in 31 games, Adama had the most complete season of his career. (…) It is therefore quite natural that the club wanted to continue the adventure with the native of Diambars. Well suited to the club and the city, Adama has agreed with the leaders to extend his lease in the Châteauroux club!“
The 28-year-old Senegalese defender arrived in Châteauroux in the summer of 2021. “This season, I found the pleasure of playing regularly, it did me the greatest good” declared the one who is the second most used field player of the season, after Thomas Robinet. “I have the confidence of the coach and the leaders, so I hope to be able to give them back next season by continuing to perform well, to help the club get back to Ligue 2!”
On the other hand, impossible to know for the moment the duration of this extension. “The management does not want to communicate on this“replied the club to France Bleu Berry.
