COVID-19: 14 additional deaths and hospitalizations on the rise in Quebec

Quebec has 1,634 people positive for COVID-19 in its hospitals, including 54 patients in intensive care.

In addition, 14 deaths are added to the balance sheet.

THE SITUATION IN QUEBEC AS OF MAY 17, 2022

  • 625 new cases, for a total of 1,058,691 people infected*;
  • 14 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 15,298 deaths;
  • 5,350 healthcare workers absent for reasons related to COVID (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
  • 1,634 hospitalizations, an increase of 23 from the previous day;
    • 105 new entries,
    • 82 new releases;
  • 54 people in intensive care, an increase of 3 from the previous day;
    • 5 new entries,
    • 2 new releases;
  • 10,231 samples taken on May 15;
  • 208,849 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 171,091 positive: 189 declared for the day yesterday, including 154 positive.
