Aurélien Rousseau, 45, knows Matignon very well since he was deputy chief of staff when Manuel Valls, then Bernard Cazeneuve, held the position under the five-year term of François Hollande. This former professor of history and geography has made a few media appearances in recent months: he was indeed at the head of the Ile-de-France Regional Health Agency during the Covid-19 pandemic. He had left this position last summer to join the Council of State.
