The law of series: “There were ten”

They were ten », a new adaptation of the famous novel by Agatha Christie: the 10 little niggers. The series brings together a French cast of choice: Samuel LeBihan, Guillaume de Tonquedec, Romane Bohringer, Virginia Ledoyenamong others.

For the record: Ten foreigners (5 men and 5 women) land on a desert island for a stay in a luxury hotel. Except that when they arrive, they find a deserted, rather run-down place, far from the promised glamor, with only two staff members who don’t seem very knowledgeable either. Quickly, the dream turns into a nightmare.

They realize they’ve been lured into a trap and for a very specific reason: they are accused of having each killed someone. The story is very contemporary. In the original, the characters were a General, a Judge, they are today a member of an NGO, a crime cop or an ex-trader.

So we watch or notThey were ten »? Fans of thrillers and behind closed doors will find what they are looking for. The suspense on the identity of the killer holds throughout the 6 episodes. Despite a few clichés and, in my opinion, a little too many flashbacks explaining the past of each protagonist which break the rhythm a little, the series is rather pleasant. Good entertainment that will sometimes make us think of remember last summerthe scares of a good slasher less.
