On Sunday 15 May, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenbergassured that Ukraine could win the war against Russia. In the east, the Ukrainian army is regaining ground.
In the city of Kharkiv (Ukraine)the Ukrainian soldiers are advancing every day, pushing back the Russian army. In the region, Russian soldiers have left, after occupying some villages for weeks. The Ukrainian flag is up again and locals come out of their shelters to repair the damage caused by the war. Here, the Ukrainian counter-offensive began at the end of April and intensified in May.
The Ukrainian army regains control of towns in the east and noted want to drill up Izioumin the Donbass. “Ukraine holds firm, NATO is stronger than ever. Europe and North America are firmly united. Ukraine can win this war“, assured Jens StoltenbergSecretary General of NATO. Sunday May 15, Finland formalized its application to join the Atlantic Alliance. NATO members must now unanimously accept this candidacy, as well as that of Sweden, which may follow.
