This is an increase of $0.05 per liter, which was retailing at $210.9 on Saturday at several service stations in the city.
It has been less than 10 days since the price of gasoline exceeded the psychological threshold of $2 per litre.
Interviewed on the show About your businesslast Monday, the president of the Canadians for Affordable Energy group, Dan McTeague, argued that gasoline could reach, or even exceed, $2.20 a liter before the end of May.
According to him, only an economic recession or the end of the conflict in Ukraine could lower prices.
“You could see a decrease of 12 to 18 cents per litre, but right now it’s really a matter of supply,” he said.
