Jean-Luc Mélenchon reviews his proposal and promises a minimum salary of 1,500 euros net per month

He had promised a minimum wage of 1,400 euros net, but he revised his proposal upwards. Guest of the program “Sunday in politics”, the leader of rebellious France, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, returned to one of the flagship proposals of the program of the left alliance.

Asked by Francis Letellier about his party’s desire to increase the minimum wage to 1,400 euros net per month and the obsolete aspect of this proposal, the minimum wage was increased in May to 1,302.64 euros net monthly, the leader of the New People’s Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) conceded: “You are absolutely right. Indeed, we had planned to increase the Smic by 15%. Since the Smic is at 1,300 (net monthly euros), we will therefore go to 1,500”. The outgoing MP for the 4th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône also added that his party was there “to advance people’s lives”.
