One of the greatest successes of Quebec cinema, The great seduction, will be transposed to the theater. The play will be presented in the summer of 2022 at the Théâtre Gilles-Vigneault in Saint-Jérôme.
“The last two summers have been quite disrupted by COVID and for the summer of 2022, we wanted to offer our audience a large-scale show paired with an experience feel good ! We all need it! », Declared the general and artistic director of the Gilles-Vigneault theater, David Laferrière.
Entitled Sainte-Marie-la-Mauderne – name of the remote village where the plot takes place – the play from Ken Scott’s film will be adapted by Emmanuel Reichenbach and directed by Frédéric Blanchette.
It is Michel Rivard who will play the role of Germain Lesage, initially played by Raymond Bouchard. Fayolle Jean Jr will be Doctor Christopher Williams, played in the film by David Boutin, and Normand Brathwaite will take over the role of Pierre Collin, who played the grumpy Yvon Brunet.
