Stade Lavallois, National champion, played its last match of the season against Orléans in the Saint-Pryvé stadium which plays in N2.
We will not remember much of this final evening except for the double (the 3rd this season) of Geoffray Durbant. The Guadeloupe striker finished the season with 19 goals (14 away, 5 at home) and thus overtook Christian Bekamenga’s performance in 2014.
Twice, Stade Lavallois led in this meeting without real stakes but Orléans managed to equalize twice before taking the advantage two minutes from the end of the meeting.
This is only the second defeat of the return phase. Stade Lavallois ends the season with 20 wins, seven draws and seven losses. 49 goals scored and 30 goals conceded.
Gboho’s last game in the Laval jersey
At the end of the match, the young striker Ambroise Gboho announced his departure from the club. The former Chambly player arrived in Mayenne during the winter transfer window to replace Yohan Brun, who left for Versailles. At the end of the interview with the leaders and the staff carried out on Thursday May 12, Gboho learned that he was not kept for next season in Ligue 2.
Same situation for Yazid Ait Moujane. The defender trained at Stade Lavallois, who has played only one match this season in National (plus two in the Coupe de France), will have to find a new club.
Finally, at the microphone of France Bleu Mayenne, the central defender, Marvin Baudry confided that he would still be Lavallois next season.
The reaction
Laval coach Olivier Frapolli wanted to rotate his squad for this last game of the season.
