1er May, 26-year-old Christopher Desrosiers hit a Sûreté du Québec biker policeman with his vehicle and fled in northeast Montreal. The seriously injured officer was taken to hospital.
The policeman had tried to intercept him during a radar operation, on rue Armand-Chaput, near the intersection of boulevard Henri-Bourassa, in Rivière-des-Prairies, around 8 a.m.
Rather than coming to a stop, the vehicle in question overturned the policeman and his motorcycle. The policeman was injured in the upper and lower body. Reinforcements then arrived. Mr. Desrosiers was arrested the same day and was met by investigators.
The following day, he faced charges of aggravated assault, hit and run, dangerous driving and possession of drugs.
On Wednesday, the man was also charged with attempted murder and possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis. He appeared the same day.
