During the first confinement, they had to close, before finally being declared as essential trade. Bookstores are essential to the vitality of a town centre.
In the Vosges, at Raon l’Etape, the 6,500 inhabitants had been deprived of it for five years. But a few weeks ago, a small event happened, a bookseller has set up, with the help of the municipality.
Chloé Attlan is 25 years old, she has benefited from the support of the town hall of Raonne. “It was difficult to find a place to rent well placed, and not too expensive. In the end, the town hall managed to find this perfect location, right in the center, with the market behind it every Saturday morning.
“It is a more than essential trade, which demonstrates the attractiveness of a municipality. We trusted her and she trusted us. _A bookstore is a foundation for the diversity of the commercial offer_“ explains Benoît Pierrat.
The municipality offered a moderate rent to Chloé, in order to facilitate her installation.
To enrich the service it provides to the population, Chloé will very soon open its website to set up click and collect.
