A union between the PQ and QS on the horizon?

According to some members of the Parti Québécois (PQ), the formation is a left-wing party and should unite with Québec solidaire (QS). Allow me, who was active in the PQ from 1980 to 2021, to shed a different light on you.

Know that the PQ tolerates ex-unionists like me, because it boasts of being a coalition of all walks of life.

My last years in the party showed me that people on the left in the PQ are under close surveillance and that it is people on the right who have the upper hand.

The announced departure of Mme Véronique Hivon comes to sound the death knell for a union between these two parties. Any other vision is a matter of magical thought whose only goal is to throw smoke and mirrors into the hearts of progressive PQ militants.

The only possible agreement between now and the elections on October 3rd would be for the PQ to consider not presenting a candidate in the constituencies where QS could make a breakthrough and for QS to follow the same scenario for the PQ.

After the elections, these two parties could begin negotiations to secure common points according to the national interest. The union of the PQ and QS to create the PQS is far on the horizon.
