Ukraine does not wish to leave Russia alone to claim victory over Nazism, while the fighting in the Donbass is still causing civilian casualties. On Sunday May 8, a school was bombed in Bilohorivka. 60 civilians were reportedly killed.
The Russian air force dropped a bomb on Sunday, May 8, on the village of Bilohorivka, in eastern Ukraine. In this school, 90 civilians thought they would find a safe haven. A Ukrainian soldier films the rubble, and struggles to hide his anger. According to kyiv (Ukraine), there would be 60 dead. The survivors are stunned. “I was knocked to the ground by the collapse of a slab. I curled up, then there was another explosion, stones fell. Then darkness. I opened one eye through the dust, I saw a ray of light“, says one of them.
“Sergei crawled and helped me out, then we dug up my uncle, my aunt, we crawled in the cloud of dust”, he continues. Another man is too affected to find the words: he has just lost his mother. This bombardment is far from being an exception. The territories of Donbass still in the hands of the Ukrainians, but coveted by the Russians, they have been constantly bombarded for several days.
