Despite the increase in many products and in particular the price of wheat, some bakeries choose to maintain the price of their baguette at 1 euro.

A baguette at 1 euro and for three baguettes purchased, the third is free for the network of Ange bakeries. An offer that continues despite the rise in prices. To cope, the leaders are cutting back on packaging prices, sacrificing part of their margin, but above all, they negotiated fixed prices for flour just before the increase.

In Finistère, a baker is paying more and more for his flour, but to counter this increase, he has decided to remove the packaging around the bread. “If we do the math, at the level of the somersault the paper is in fact equivalent to the increase in this price of flour”, explains Jean-Baptiste Abgrall, baker. A novelty well received by customers. But this fight against the rise in prices could no longer be enough if the increase were to continue.
