A new scheme to support farmers working in favor of the environment has just been launched. This is particularly the case on the side of Valencay, in Indre. Each farmer can receive up to 60,000 euros if his practices are respectful of the environment.
A border of trees should soon bring money to a farmer in Valencay (Indre). For five years, agricultural development specialists will come to verify the good environmental practices of the farmer. In particular, shrubs can harbor ladybugs, which eat aphids. The farmer could receive up to 60,000 euros for respecting the environment, such as a legume for livestock and grown without chemicals.
In the prairies, fertilizers have also disappeared. The breeder should receive his first payment this year. “I see that there is a look and a small profit that can be made after ten years”, testifies Nicolas Leffray, farmer. This system concerns approximately 2,500 conventional farmers in France. This aid of 70 million euros in all is financed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
