May 9 is also Europe Day. On this occasion, Emmanuel Macron is traveling to Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin)where he will speak as President of the Council of the European Union. “According to the Élysée, he will be keen to defend ‘the assertion of the strength of liberal democracies in the face of the assertion of Russian strength, which sheds blood on Ukrainian soil'”reports the journalist Julian Gasparuttolive from Brussels (Belgium).

The illustration of this European democracy, “This will be the conclusion of the conference on the future of Europe. It was a major citizen consultation that lasted a year, on the initiative of President Macron. Thousands of people made very diverse proposals: an Erasmus for doctors for example, European measures for childcare, or even a major overhaul of European institutions”concludes the journalist. The French president will then travel to Berlin (Germany) to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
