After two years disrupted by the health crisis, the Les Cinglés du Cinéma festival is back in Argenteuil, in Val-d’Oise. A 32nd edition marked by the presence of actor Jean-Claude Dreyfus.

Film Crazy Festival

Create a flea market dedicated to the cinema. You had to think about it. In 1988, the town of Argenteuil was the first in France to host an event of this type, first under the name of the Foire du Cinématographe. Today, it is the unmissable meeting place for lovers of the 7th art who come to Les Cinglés du Cinéma to sell, buy or exhibit period equipment, posters or even hard-to-find films. This year, the event brings together, for two days, about sixty exhibitors. Old projectors are presented with passion by collectors to the delight of the public. “Today’s youth tend to forget older cinema. It’s good to show them”, testifies Jean-Christophe de Block, film collector. Workshops around sound effects or the magic lantern also introduce the public to the beginnings of cinema and its techniques.

He will also meet the public after the screening of a documentary dedicated to him: The extravagant little life of Jean-Claude Dreyfus by Adrien Juncker, Lucas Stoll and Yannick Bruni. Until May 10, the city’s cinemas are showing great classics like The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola or Celebration day by Jacques Tati.
