Often driven to consumption by social networks, customers are flocking to dental appliances online. Orthodontists are worried.
They are everywhere on the Internet the promises of perfect smiles. A simple tray for teeth worthy of a mannequin. Anaïs Vidal, a student, saw gutters to wear at night on the Internet. “I wore them for a week and a half or so and I felt that my teeth were moving, it really hurt my front teeth and I thought it was really not good for me”testifies the student.
Orthodontists worry about the possible consequences. “Unfortunately, we see more and more often arriving in our offices patients who have followed virtual treatments on the Internet and who come with situations that are catastrophic compared to the initial situation.says Dr Olivier Migaultorthodontist. A consultation is necessary to check bridges, implants or the condition of the bone on which the stability of the teeth depends.
