The Les Funambules collective was created in 2012 by the composer Stéphane Corbin, in response to the violent demonstrations in France against marriage for all. The aim is to fight against discrimination through the creation of original songs.
In January 2017, the collective released a first album composed of 45 original songs to fight against homophobia.
Today, the approach that made the strength of their first album remains at the heart of this new project. Over a wide range of tones, alternating between lightness and seriousness, humor and tenderness, the new songs address strong social issues and as different as wage inequality, domestic violence, mental burden, excision, fashion dictates, prostitution, consent, women who do not want children, jobs “reserved for men” , the age difference in a couple or even endometriosis.
Also on the program, portraits of feminist figures such as George Sand, Violette Morris, Simone Veil or Simone de Beauvoir, as well as evocations of great historical facts such as the accession to the right to vote, the fight of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in Argentina or the fate reserved in the past for women of angels.
Virginie LemoineNoémie de Lattre, Anny Duperey, Corinne Touzet, Eva Darlan… In total, 150 artists, singers and musicians are taking part in the project.
2€ per album purchased on the Funambules site will be donated to Family Planning.
