[PHOTOS] Garbage truck wrecks residence

A garbage truck with a defective braking system pulverized a residence located at the bottom of a slope, Friday, in Saint-Côme-Linière, in Beauce.

The accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of 15th Street and Principale Street, about ten minutes south of Saint-Georges.

The decades-old house has been completely destroyed and only debris remains.

Miraculously, no one was inside at the time of impact. So there are no injuries.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, the driver of the Sanitaire Fortier truck lost control on the descent. He could not slow down his mad dash a few steps from the Caisse Desjardins building.

The truck driver was not seriously injured. Important maneuvers are still in progress to tow the heavyweight. Witnesses at the scene are all stunned.
