Investigators from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) have arrested a first suspect in connection with a break and enter in a jewelry store located in Kirkland, in the west of the island of Montreal.

On the night of November 29 to 30, 2021, two individuals broke into a jewelry store on Saint-Charles Boulevard in Kirkland. They had seized numerous valuables, including diamonds, gold, jewelry and luxury watches, all worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
On April 28, a first suspect, Daniel Simard, was arrested. The 50-year-old man appeared the same day at the Montreal courthouse to face several charges, including break and enter, theft and mischief. He was also charged for similar events that took place in a jewelry store in Châteauguay.
Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the second suspect and recovering the stolen items. Although the police were able to recover a number of objects belonging to the jewelry store, a significant part of the stolen goods remains untraceable.
