We already know the name of an actor rewarded at the next Cannes Film Festival!

May the next Cannes Film Festival promise to be exciting! While the president of the jury was unveiled recently, we now know the name of an award-winning personality. And it’s about… Forest Whitaker! 34 years after his performance award received on the Croisette, the 60-year-old actor will be awarded a palme d’honneur.

“Thirty-four years ago, attending Cannes for the first time changed my life and assured me that I had made the right decision to dedicate myself to finding connectedness in humanity through cinema” then explained in a press release the actor rewarded in 1988 for his role of Charlie Parker in the biopic of Clint Eastwood, Bird. “It’s always a privilege to return to this beautiful festival to both screen my own work and be inspired by many of the world’s greatest artists. And I feel incredibly honored to be celebrated as part of the 75th anniversary of the Festival” concluded the one who is also known for his roles in Black Panther and The Last King of Scotland (for which he won the Best Actor Oscar in 2007).
